We love a small kitchen. A small kitchen packed with natural materials, simple shaker cabinetry, and a beautiful old dining table in the middle. With a worn terracotta tiled floor and some curved window reveals, what more do you need from a little old cottage.

There’s an immediate feeling of home when sat down at the kitchen table. The warmth from the Aga, the cosy proportions, lamps are switched on, it’s a little bit dark but in a really pleasing way.   

Little Greene’s Portland Stone, earthy and versatile, was an ideal colour choice for the units. Soft and subtle, but in no way underwhelming, the kitchen cupboards are nestled into the space beautifully. Our aged brass knobs complimenting their slight green undertone. Alongside, the jet black Aga gives a gentle contemporary edge to this traditional setting. Its polished chrome details, matching the bright chrome tap, are crisp and clean, a refreshing contrast to the character of the room.

It was a tricky little one to design, and especially to install. The simple L-shaped layout involved plenty of head-scratching. We squeezed in a dishwasher, Belfast sink, pan drawers, an under-counter fridge, and finished the run off with a floor to ceiling larder cupboard on the end; one that also hides the ugly boiler.

Bespoke kitchens don’t always have to mean big and expensive. In fact, it’s these smaller spaces where our handmade cupboards can really make all the difference.
