A Restored Barn, Yorkshire Dales

An understated restored barn in the Yorkshire Dales.

If an Eastburn kitchen was meant for any house, we reckon this one would be well up there; a carefully and simply restored barn in the Yorkshire Dales. With cosy proportions, original features, and a mixture of fitted and freestanding cabinetry arranged in a sensible way, does it get much better?

However, a kitchen is much more than its run of cabinetry. Everything in this kitchen has soul, a reason for being on show. From the pendant lighting and handmade ceramics, to the small artwork propped on a shelf, it all has a story.

The kitchen’s centrepiece, the reclaimed butcher’s block island, hogs all the attention. Yet in a calm, understated way. Spotted on the top floor of our mill, we soon had it cleaned up and made a base to suit. We even added a little piece of marble that we had kicking about too. Who knows what you’ll discover on our top floor!
